Demanufacture Concept
A soundtrack for an anonymous person, struggling to exist in a world as an individual, where the sense of individuality is not acceptable... even taboo. A soundtrack for an anonymous person who is sick and tired of the government lying to everyone; when government conspiracy and deceit is a way of life. A Soundtrack to spearhead the resistance, and create a new society.
Demanufacture:The title song sets the mood of the record. A vicious and unrelenting anthem in which the main character finally puts their foot down and will accept no more bullshit from everyday life.
Self Bias Resistor: The title is taken from a technical manual. A head-strong piece to lead the revolt into self-awareness. "Self Bias" meaning pro-individuality; singularity. "resistor" standing for what that person is: a fighter. Conformity will not be tolerated. Assimilation will not be acceptable. Referring to the government and other conformist associations as "machines of hate," our protagonist says, "Persist for resistance, resist their insolence, you are a dissident, burn away conformity!"
Zero Signal: This title is also taken from a technical manual and is quite self-explanatory. This piece is a moment of weakness for our leader. Very moving, very emotional. The fears that this person was taught as a child become overwhelming and vulnerability is starting to show. This person is feeling "numb" because no one can hear his cries of help. This bastard is suffering in silence. The price of individuality is more than they bargained for.
Replica: Adapted from BLADE RUNNER (in which the term was originally "replicant"), this explains why our leader is very different in nature. A conception of rape, this child of violence has lived with the knowledge of hate, pain and neglect first-hand his entire life. This piece is a cry for help, as our leader chants, "I don't want to live that way!"
New Breed: This is our fight song. We are now sentient beings. This piece is a declaration of change. It is quite simple, "We are the new breed, we are the future... we have control of destiny, we have control of what's to be!"
Body Hammer: A piece to help the listener feel the anger of the leader. This realization describes to the new "recruits" how our leader will be an asset for permanent change in the fucked-up world we all live in. "As of now I am a tool of severe impact, hammer down, cause and effect, and create a new world!" This task will not be taken on gently. Our protagonist will pound, drive and strike until the desired effect has been accomplished.
Flashpoint: The term used when any object becomes combustible. In this episode our leader feels the repercussions of past acquaintances. taken from an old folklore tale about a person who has lied so often in their past that his last fabrication damns him to etermal damnation inside the grasp of fire. However, there is a twist: the victim is thankful that the deceit is over and is dancing in the flames as they purge him of his wrong-doing.
H-K (Hunter-Killer): A term taken from the film THE TERMINATOR. This is a machine of the future. Our leader is trying to survive the only way they know how, being a "delinquent survivalist," or, as our government defines it; "criminal activity." This is a volatile song for acceptance. It describes the day-to-day life of our leader. Like a machine, emotion is foreign. "Desensitized" by culture as we know it, our leader survives through actions perceived as "criminal." As a human, survival in this society is an ugly sight. As our leader becomes judge, jury, and executioner, resistance is futile.
A Therapy For Pain: The most enigmatic piece of the entire record. As our leader drifts off into a very deep sleep, Death (as a dream) appears to him as a woman. She takes our hero's hand and travels through various scenes of "innocence." As our leader cries, "Tries so hard!," escaping through death becomes unacceptable and Death disappears (like a dream) and our leader lives on; never knowing when "she" will return and the dream will become a reality.
