  • The title of Pisschrist was taken from a photo by controversial photographer Andre Serrano. "He got a government grant to fund a project and he came back with this picture of a crucifix in a jar of piss. He got a lot of flak from the moral majority and religious groups, they all came down on him and that was what the song was about. The song is questioning the power of religion" explains Burton

  • Fear Factory's old keyboard player, Reynor Diego, came up with the perfect nickname for Dino: Self Diet Resistor. This will occasionally turn up on a set list, but not so often now that Reynor is no longer with the band

  • Your Mistake is a cover of an Agnostic Front song from their Cause For Alarm album. Freddie Cricien from Madball is the guest vocalist on Fear Factory's version

  • In mid 1996, FF had to cancel a tour of Australia after Burton developed a strange throat ailment. They went back and made the shows up a few months later

  • Self Bias Resistor was loosely based on the movie Closet Land

  • In january 1993, Brutal Truth and Fear Factory jammed live onstage for about ten minutes in Florence, Italy, under the name Leccaculo (asslicker in Italian). They played for about ten minutes with Raymond on drums, Dino on guitar, Kev Sharp on vocals, S. Lewis on vocals, Dan Lilker on bass, and Burton grinding a steel hammer and lapping wheel so that it threw sparks into the audience. The played grindcore, and Dino did a solo!!!!!!!!

  • Burton based the lyrics for Martyr on a Nirvana song he had stuck in his head at the time of writing. He didn't know the lyrics and was singing them incorrectly. when he discovered what the real lyrics were, he kept his version for the FF song.

  • Scapegoat was based on a situation that happened to Dino where he was wrongly arrested and imprisoned for a crime he didn't have any knowledge of
